Tonight's R.E.D.

Tonight at 6pm... Gather at the Bears Den in Byron for a fun run or walk about town!  Route options are 3, 4 or 6 miles... as always, fitness & fun is the plan!

Saturday 12:30pm...   Hike at Oxbow Park.  This is the precursor to the excess calorie intake you may have at the Team R.E.D. picnic!
Saturday 1:30pm...  Picnic! This is at Oxbow park in the main picnic area; take the campground/zoo drive and go all the way to the picnic area, by Middle bridge.   Just like last month's picnic, it's BYOB, snacks, and grilling food.  Kids are welcome to attend!  Bring the family...   we'll have yard games available as well.  For anyone considering camping, remember Oxbow is first come first serve, so get there early!

Sunday - 9-4pm.... be sure to stop by the Mayo Civic center and visit Team R.E.D.'s booth!   Bring the family and participate in the fun, while meeting some former Olympic Athletes!
  • 9:30am - 1 mile stroller-a-thon (hosted by healthybrainsforchildren.org )
  • 10am - 1 mile fun walk/run (hosted by Team R.E.D.)

Here are some upcoming races to consider....
  • July 4th - Stewartville Summerfest runs.  This annual event offers a 3 Mile & 5 Mile race.
  • July 4th - Memorial Run for Jason Stevens at Cook Park in Rochester.  This is a low key event, with the entry fee being a non-perishable food item for Channel One
  • July 21st - Byron Good Neighbor Days race.  Always a good time, with lots of friendly faces!

We're still accepting volunteers for a couple opportunities this weekend!  Please drop me an email at byron.teamred@gmail.com if you're available to assist...

  • Sunday 10am-11am - Team R.E.D. hosts a 1 mile fun run / walk at the Mayo Civic Center as part of Olympic Day at the Team Sports & Fitness Expo.
  • Sunday 5:45pm - Team R.E.D. volunteers will hand out ribbons and measure jumps for kids at the Byron All-Comers track meet.   Post kids events, we'll be able to try our hand at some of the events!
Tune into the noon news on KTTC today to catch Tom O' chatting about this weekends Olympic Day.  Then tune in again to KTTC news at 5pm to see Tom O' & Jim M touting Olympic Day once again!
