Underwear One-Mile Registration Opens 10/31!

The Team R.E.D. Underwear One-Mile registration opens on Friday 10/31... Pink Boxer Shorts will go to the first 50 registered participants... I had been saying the funds will go to Breast Cancer Research, upon further review, I didn't find an organization that could commit specifically to that purpose.   Therefore, we called an audible, and the proceeds will go to Join the Journey to support their mission of supporting individuals on their Breast Cancer journey.

Of course the following link is slightly warmer weather, but I keep getting questions as to "what type of underwear is ok"... the answer is any!  Come participate, have fun and raise some money for Join the Journey!  Remember, Dec 5th is the kickoff to Brrrr Fest! So plan to join us at the Bears Den post run!

I was also reminded we didn't post any pictures from Mia & Danny's wedding reception.. here are a couple that turned out far better than any I took... it was a great evening for them, and years of happiness & love are in the future for them!  Congrats to Mia & Danny!

Making their entrance....
Enjoying the moment...

We're at the Bears Den tonight.... If you don't already have a headlamp, visit your friendly TerraLoco staff and they will get you dialed in! If you don't get a chance to do that today, come out anyway, wear reflective clothing and you'll be safe in our group of lamps!

Saturday 7:30am: Off Season Striders get rolling from the back side of Brothers Bar & Grill in Rochester.  Saturday is also All-Saints Day.. so dress appropriately, as you are all mighty saintly!

The week ahead!

I love this shot of the start of Surf the Murph 50 Miler.. in the darkness you can see Chris and Sarah ready to roll!  I'm sure we can hear some great stories of the Surf the Murph events during this upcoming week as we get together!

Several members were at Monster Dash this past weekend.. and they were rockin' the costumes!   Nice work in the race as well!

Amy & Mike spotted near the start!

Below is a pic of Team R.E.D. award winners at the Spirit Run.  Notice Dan is holding a trophy, as he was the overall champion on Saturday.  Also, missing from this pic is Roger, who also scored an award.  Nice work everyone!

Team R.E.D. represented well with several awards at the Spirit Run!

    • What type of underwear is acceptable?  Any and all!  Some people are talking about fun undies, i.e. superhero and the like, others are thinking long underwear!  Others are thinking more booty shorts, or sexy fun undies.... you could even wear jammies if that made you more comfortable!
    • Don't think you can handle participating in this event? Want to volunteer instead?  Please drop Tom an email at byron.teamred@gmail.com to volunteer!

So many people have been racing, and achieving great results lately, I just don't think I can post them all!  I know Mankato was loaded with PR's and age group placements!  That's Awesome!   I also know several are heading to Surf the Murf this weekend.. make sure you hydrate, that's a long way to trail run!

I'd just like to end the post with a pic that demonstrates what determination, drive, preparation can bring.  Angela ran her first marathon at Mankato.. and she crushed it!  Steady as a rock... her pace never wavered!   Congrats to Team R.E.D.'s newest Boston Qualifier.. Angela Eide!

You'll have to ask Dave & Elaine to explain how Angela came around to becoming a runner just 4 short years ago... it's a great story, then ask Angela the same question and you'll get another great story, although it's quite different!

It was a great night for a run or walk with Team R.E.D. last night!  The weather was perfect, but I would also note, by the time the run was over, it was Headlamp territory.  I suggest always having your headlamps for evening runs at least until our days get longer again (one day way in the future!)

Randy and Dave lead the pack

Oliver 'group' running

Claire, Marley & Steve
