  • 2017 Beer Mile was our largest turnout
  • New Women's course record:  7:42 - Brandy Brown
  • New Men's course record: 5:30 - Joachim Marjon
  • We welcomed 5 new Team R.E.D. Members! (pictures to follow in our next post)
I'll add some more pics of the Beer Mile in a future post, and at that time we should have our final tally and announce how much we were able to raise for the Byron Lions Accessible Park Project!

The weekend of fun continued as many took part in the Saturday morning long run, while others jumped into the Women's Race in Rochester or the Good Neighbor Days race in Byron.  - and today, there's a chance to support a Kids Mile - it's a FREE 1 mile race along the parade route in Byron. - then Team R.E.D. is marching in the parade, and finally a post parade gathering at the O'Leary's home.  Details are listed below.

Sunday, July 23rd
  • 1:30pm: We can use volunteers at the Middle School for the Kids Mile - Race starts at 2:25pm and we'll open registration about 1:45pm.
  • 2:25pm: Free Kids Mile along the parade route! Bring your kids, and tell your friends to bring theirs!
  • 3pm:  Team R.E.D. is marching in the parade - we line up as the 2nd unit, just behind the fire trucks, the mayor ect...
  • 4pm (approx): Join us at 805 1st Ave NW in Byron for a post parade social.  We're providing Tacos, Beer, Root Beer Floats & Water. - Bring the whole family!
Here's our group run schedule for the week!

Monday 6pm:  Monday Maniacs are heading to Cowboy Jacks on South Broadway.  This location is a great one to run from, and a fun place to socialize complete with peanuts in a shell!
Tuesday 6:15pm: The Tuesday Trail crew is heading to Bill Barnacles - a great little park just south of Rochester.  Gather at the Jeffs Minnoco Station along Hwy 52 in Marion. - enjoy a couple of great loops and the parking lot party!
Tuesday 9pm:  The Night Owls hit Douglas Trail for a great out and back.  Meet at the trailhead along Valley High (next to IBM).  This crew is a fun group and with the course being out and back, no matter how fast or how slow, you're always near each other!
Wednesday 6pm:  Speed work on the track in Byron.  We start the workout at 6pm, so if you need some time to warm up, try to arrive a bit earlier.  We'll discuss the workout at the track - join the fun and work on that speed!
Thursday 6pm:  Team R.E.D. has another great Home Host! Thanks to the Brian & Cindy Morgan for inviting us to their place at 5018 51st St NW, Rochester.  There are several great places to walk or run from their neighborhood.  The theme is College Night - wear college gear, bring your favorite college beer or a side if you wish! The Morgans are providing a Taco Bar and enough beer to get things moving!
