All the fun... and we get to run!

Here's a quick post for the weekend and beyond....

And first...  I wanted to let you know we received a very nice card from the Rochester Flyers for our contribution of $1845.  Knowing the effort that teams puts forth is a great reminder for all of us, that getting to the start line is often tougher then getting to the finish.  You've already accomplished so much by committing to do it! Keep on doing it!

Tonight 5pm-9pm:  TerraLoco is hosting an Olympic Opening Ceremonies Party at Kathy's Pub!  Should be a lot of fun.. if you participated in their Olympic Village Challenge you'll receive some free food and free drink!  - Non-participants could probably come hang out and enjoy for cash!
Saturday 7am:  The half and full marathon training runs from the RAC continue.. they always do!  15 miles for the full marathoners, 8 miles for the half marathoners! - Bring $1 to help support the aid stations. ---  Also, consider volunteering to host an aid station on occasion as the aid stations make these runs the best long runs!
Saturday 8am:  The Douglas Trail 11 Mile Race - this is a Rochester Track Club event and RTC members will receive a $5 discount. Race day registration is available at the start area located in Douglas at the parking lot along the Douglas Trail.   - Watch for Byron Cross Country along the course, providing the best water you've had that morning!
Sunday 8am:  Off Season Striders are gathering at Panera South for a group run. Typically 4-8 miles (whatever you like really).  Conversational pace, and conversation post run too over a cup of joe...
Monday 6pm:  The Monday Maniacs are always out there - and heading to a favorite location- that's LTS - located at 2001 32nd Ave NW, Rochester.  - Great location to hit the pavement, and follow with quality beverages! - Oh, and they have a patio!
Tuesday 6:15pm:  The Tuesday Trail Crew heads to Root River Park for a Ramble around! - It's a fun place as you can loop the space (about 2 miles per loop) and choose your mileage without breaking away from the crowd.  Here's a link with more info about the park...  https://www.co.olmsted.mn.us/pw/parks/rootriverpark/Pages/default.aspx
Tuesday 9:30pm:  The Tuesday Night Owls are heading to Douglas.  Remember, this is the community of Douglas & the Douglas trail... so show up at the parking lot in Douglas along 75th Street to join the fun! Bring a beverage if you wish!
Wednesday 6pm:  Speed on the track in Byron! - Last week was super warm and the turnout was fantastic! - If you're new to a track workout, you can always modify it to what fits your current ability and readiness...  you'll never be more than 200 Meters from a teammate!   Come join the fun.
Thursday 6pm:  Team R.E.D. has another fantastic Home Host!  Mike and Sarah Peterson are located at 708 4th St NE in Byron and they are ready for you!  They are providing something yummy like Burgers or Chicken... and if you'd like to bring something to share that's always welcome!  Bring your beverage of choice and a lawn chair too.. it's bound to be another beautiful night to be outside!
