Monday Maniacs -- and then some!

Wow! What a weekend of events! Team R.E.D. was active at the Woman's Race in Rochester.... active at Wabasha River Boat Days... active at the Shithouse 5K in Lacrosse... active active active! I would venture to guess some were active at the Marathon Training Long Run and the Off Season Striders run as well. Pretty amazing group!

Late tonight, I'm planning to update this post with some catch up race strategy videos we captured at the Beer Mile... if you're on Team Red Facebook you may have already seen them, but if not.. it's a treat to see how complicated a beer mile might be, or how simple it might be. (Hopefully have a chance to lift some pictures from weekend races and get them in as well, or that might come another day, time will tell).

In the meantime.. the most time critical thing of note are this week's workout options!

  • Monday 6pm: The Monday Maniacs are going to meet at Wildwood Sports Bar for a fun run/walk. We will head out on the trails which are flat and mainly shaded. It is always nice to start the week with some sort of fitness. We always seem to have a great time! Everyone is always welcome to bring a friend or two!
  • Tuesday 5:30pm:   Tempo Run on the Douglas Trail.   Meet at the trailhead in Rochester (along valleyhigh road next to IBM).  This tempo is mostly flat, but a bridge or two might make you think otherwise.
  • Tuesday 6:15pm:  Tuesday Trail crew heads out.. (I haven't seen where yet, but I'm sure it's awesome!)  Check back for details!
  • Wednesday 5:30pm:   Speed work on the track in Byron.   The track is located behind the middle school on 4th street (even if you'll be a little late, show up and turn the wheels!).
  • Thursday 5:30pm:  Team B.E.D. takes off via Bike from the Bears Den in Byron.  This is a great addition to Thursday nights!  Gives you a chance to either cross train, or a potential alternative if you are recovering from a running bump.   Join Randy and crew as they roll out for some road time, before getting back for the social part of the evening.
  • Thursday 6pm:  Team R.E.D. is back in Byron at the Bears Den - first time back since the Beer Mile, I sure hope they'll let us in again!  We'll have routes of 3, 4 or 6 miles.
    • Note:  The roundabout in Byron is now open, so coming from Rochester you can take the 10th Ave entrance, and stay right around the bout!
