50 Shades of R.E.D.!

6pm tonight it's time for you to unleash your shades of RED!
The Eides are hosting us at their home... we'll head out for a run or walk at 6pm, then back to the homested for some fun social time.  I know your minds are flowing on the 50 shades, but I would caution, if you bring a special someone to the party, please plan to go home with that same special someone, just saying...
I'm reposting the details below...
  • ◦Be prepared to show your true colors. Red tie required. We will have 50 shades of fun! Eides will provided pulled pork sandwiches, water and pop. Feel free to bring a dish to pass and your beverage of choice. Bring a lawn chair. The address is 27116 675th St, Kasson. Call 259 4261 if you need directions.
6:20pm tonight... the Mayo Open 5K takes place at Eastwood Golf Course in Rochester.  This is a free event, and part of the Rochester Track Club's grand prix series.  The start time is approximate as it takes place after the completion of the High School Cross Country meet.   Best of luck to those of you racing this event... post race, slip on a RED tie and head to the Eide's for some fun!
Saturday 7am:  Join Mason and company as they romp around Chesterwoods park for a fall 50K!  Even if 50K isn't your cup of tea, join them for any distance you like.. this is a very casual event.  See the following link fo rmore details.  http://rochestertrackclub.com/main.asp?SectionID=3&SubSectionID=28&ArticleID=191
Saturday 7am:  The marathon training long run heads out from the RAC in Rochester.  This run is supported by volunteers with water/gatorade, and a great way to click away those long distances.  This weekend is scheduled for a 20 Miler.. you can find the route at the following link http://runningrochester.blogspot.com/
Saturday 3:30pm:  It's time for wine!  Meet at Fleet Farm parking lot for a trip to the Four Daughters Winery.  If you're interested in joining the party, contact Teri so they don't leave you behind.  teripruszynski@gmail.com

The Team R.E.D. Youth Scholarship has been a success to date.   We have made offers to sponsor 12 more young people in the month of September.  I'm not sure if I shared this email from a previous recipient, so just in case, I've pasted it below.   Nice work Team R.E.D.!

Dear Team R.E.D.,

I am writing to thank you for the youth scholarship you gave to my daughter, Laurel. That was her first race and she loved it! Amazingly before this race the longest she had ever run was 2 mi, but she decided to take on the 10k. We ran together and finished in 59.35! She was one of only two 11 y/o to run the longer race.

Thank you again for your generosity,

Julie Woodrum

**Note: if you'd like to make a contribution to keep the Scholarship Fund flowing, please direct the funds to Wendy O'Leary.  She will make sure the funds go to the correct account.
