The Weekend and Beyond!

Be sure to check out the poll on the right side of the blog.. in the past we've done Christmas Caroling on the Run. When we do this, we ask that you bring a cash donation, and we'll run in to a few restaurants, sing a song and buy some meals for some good people! It's a total surprise to the recipients - we set a couple of routes that allows runners to run and walkers to walk and we can all get there pretty close to each other.  Please vote on the poll.

We had a great turnout at Billotti's for the Thursday Night Team R.E.D.  The wind was strong but the team was stronger!  - We all need to remember, once you get started, most times the weather isn't as tough as it first appears.  I did wear my shoe hoodies to help shield the wind. - this product was invented by Team R.E.D. members Steve & Jean Knutson.

We had a chance to learn a bit about Brian and Angela's Las Vegas get-a-way for the Rock 'n Roll Marathon.  This was Angela's first and she ran very strong!  Brian says she's got the bug and is looking forward to Twin Cities Marathon in 2016!   - Way to go Angela... Congratulations!

Brian & Angela - Run Minnesota!

... and they finished!  -  Congrats to both! - For Brian it's old hat... for Angela Marathon #1 is in the books!  Sweet!
Thanks to a connection with Gwen...    Brian and Angela also had a chance to meet Helene in Las Vegas... if you recall Helene ran through Rochester and Byron during her trek around the perimeter of the country!  - Team R.E.D. had a chance to meet up with her and log some miles, she was very grateful to have us join her.

She is planning to have her journey around the United States, and her journey with cancer, made into a movie and she says the sea of R.E.D. running down Hwy 14 when she was about half way across the northern stretch is something that will definitely be part of the movie... my only request is that Sylvester Stallone play the role of Tom O'Leary.

Helene's route... all the way around!

Here's a look at what's coming up!

Saturday 7:30am:  Off Season Striders are gathering at Charlies on 2nd (just west of St Marys) - we actually meet in the lobby of Brentwood Motel, which is connected to Charlies (or Charlies is connected to the Brentwood).   - Join us for nearly any distance at nearly any pace! - come back to Charlies for some breakfast, coffee and social!
Sunday 8am:  Off Season Striders meet at Panera North.  From there we'll likely hop onto the Douglas trail and log some miles with smiles!  - Of course, come back for the social!
Sunday 1pm:  Hike at Oxbow Park - Meet at the first bridge, we'll hit the woods and be home in our Lazy Boys in plenty of time for Kick-off between the Vikings and Packers!
Monday 6pm:  Monday Maniacs are heading to LTS Brewery.  This is a fun location, with some great beer to be had post run.  LTS doesn't serve food, but they have great popcorn! - also you can order food in or bring something to munch on.  LTS is located at 2001 32nd Ave NW Rochester.
Tuesday 6:15pm:   The Tuesday Trail crew is heading to Millville - meet at the ballfield on cty 2.  This provides a nice out and back route so no matter your pace, or distance join us! The post social is likely to be at Whiskey Richards in Downtown Millville.

Thursday is Thanksgiving Day - There is no 6pm Team R.E.D. group run/walk on Thanksgiving, however there are a lot of opportunities!

Thanksgiving 8am:  Paul & Annette are hosting a group run/walk from their home.  It's a chance to get out with friends and possibly meet some of your Team R.E.D. teammates while starting your Thanksgiving off right!   -- Paul & Annette can be found at 6005 10th St. SW, Rochester - that street would also be known as cty road 104 as it's in the country and we like it that way.
Thanksgiving 8:30am:   Mom's on the Run host the Gobble Wobble from Autumn Ridge Church.  It's a 5K for the whole family benefiting the Salvation Army.  This is a well run event with lots of participants.   More information at http://rochestertrackclub.com/main.asp?SectionID=3&SubSectionID=28&ArticleID=805
