... into next week!

Here's a quick post to get you up to date on the group run opportunities quickly approaching!

Sunday 8am: Dunn Bros North is the site of the Off Season Striders group run! This is a nice location, with some tasty treats available for after the workout.  Join us!  - Also, if you need additional miles, a couple of people are planning to pre-load starting at 6:30am.  You are welcome to join that group too!
Monday 6pm:  Monday Maniacs is heading to Douglas for some miles on the trail.  Meet in the town of Douglas at the trail parking lot.  Bring a beverage for post workout if you like, or if the weather dictates, we can always head into the local Social Club - cash only!
Tuesday 6:15pm:  The Tuesday Trail Crew is heading to incredible Holzinger Bluff trails that overlook Winona. - the doors to Wenonah Brewing will be open for the post workout social! It sounds like a few people are arranging a carpool / caravan from Rochester,  - you may want to visit the SE MN Trail Runners Facebook page to get into that conversation.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/829830250409870/
Tuesday 9:30pm:  The Tuesday Night Owls are starting at a new location this week. Join them at Claires place and she has a couple of ideas for routes... join the crew at the Gates of Rochester, 2015 41st St NW (near Fareway Foods and Best Buy).  Here are the directions for parking that she provided from her previous home host. Turn right at the leasing office, right at the T intersection in the back, right into the first parking lot, and park next to the sand volleyball courts.
Wednesday 6pm:  Team R.E.D. cranks the speed on the track in Byron. Join us know matter how fast you are... this is a chance for everyone to get faster and while many will do one workout, there are always options to do what you feel is best for you. - yet remember, it's ok to be outside of your comfort zone.
Thusday 6pm:  Team R.E.D. is at the Bears Den in Byron and we'll hits the streets for routes of 3, 4 or 6 miles.  Of course, circle back to the Den for the post workout social!

This check represents good works by you all!

A portion of the team is accepting the check.. we were met with great enthusiasm.
As I reflect back on the year, we have made some positive impact for a number of organizations,  You are such a giving Team!  - Including 3 more kids running for FREE in a race last weekend... we will continue to gift kids entries, thanks to the Scholarship Fund, which we as team members fund.

It should also be said, we couldn't do this without our great sponsors! Be sure to thank them and support them!   Links to all their websites are on the right hand side of the blog.  Amazing group that has stuck with us for a long time!

Wendy and I brought this really cool cooler with us, but we think we came home with someone elses cool cooler which looks just like ours... for the record, the someone else took ours first, so I have this one as our negotiation tool.  By the way.. it's Zipperless!

Zipper-less according to the label

If it's actually zipperless, what is that below the zipperless label?

Contents untouched for now... make an offer Spotted Cow!

  • Wednesday 6pm:  TerraLoco is hosting a $5 charity 5K for the Special Olympics - Rochester Flyers Track Team! - This is an organization Team R.E.D. is supporting through this years Beer Mile as well, so I suggest in lieu of a track workout, we head to TerraLoco and crank a 5K!   - This is also the kick-off for their Olympic Challenge - of which Team R.E.D. is considered an Olympic Village Partner.
    • If you're not familiar with the challenge - essentially, you'll track your mileage, or time spent working out, and log points.  Below is a chart that shows how the points work - and you may need to click on it to enlarge it and read it!
    • For anyone who would still prefer a track workout - the track in Byron is available.

  • Thursday 6pm:  Team R.E.D. has a home host! - Thanks to the Paradise family for inviting us to their place at 355 Carlisle Lane NW, Rochester.   Our hosts are providing Burgers, Brats & Beer - Bring a dish to pass and anything else you may want to drink.  Bring a swimsuit as well!   Also, the good news is.. every run is downhill from their house!
    • We're aware this is a 1st Thursday and typically we'd be at the Bears Den, but fear not, we'll be at the Bears Den the next two Thursdays! - Including the Beer Mile!
