Go Go Go!

Congratulations go to Oliver as he's the proud papa of a new baby boy! Little Jack received a Team R.E.D. tee... but he's not pictured here, that's me standing in for the boy.

Here's a look at the next few days! - remember for your evening runs (and early morning for that matter), we are at that time of year where Reflective clothing and Head Lamps are a must! Make sure you're being safe and being seen!

  • Sunday 8am:  Off Season Striders are at Roosters, along West Circle Drive. Plan on any where from 4-8 miles, it's always up to you!  Come back for coffee and/or breakfast and a social!
  • Monday 6pm: The Monday Maniacs are getting it rolling from Newts at Cross Roads. This is typically a 5-6 mile group with a variety of paces.  It's in the heart of Rochester... and a another great gathering place for the post workout social!
  • Tuesday 6:15pm:  The Tuesday Trail crew heads to Carley State Park for 4-6 miles of trails. You can run or hike! The social will be fireside, weather permitting, otherwise a quick trip in to Plainview to enjoy each other!
  • Tuesday 9pm:  The Night Owls keep rolling along the Douglas Trail! - If you can't make those 6pm workouts, here's an opportunity to get connected! Meet at the trailhead along Valley High and enjoy the out and back (pick your turn around time, based on how far you want to go!).
  • Thursday 6pm:  Team R.E.D. is Rochester bound!  Join us at Beetles Bar & Grill on 2nd Street.  This is a great location to get either a run down town, or around the base of the big old hill, without going up it!  Of course, a social at Beetles is also fun!
    • If you have time to roll out to Northern Hills Golf Course on Thursday prior to R.E.D., you can check out the Section 1A Cross Country Championships!  Byron and all the area small schools compete this day.  It's super fun to watch these high school athletes chase for a spot in the Minnesota Sate Cross Country Championship, held Nov 4th.
    • Boys compete at 3:50pm and Girls at 4:45pm - if you stop out, swing by the Byron Tent and say hi!
    • The event is supported by the Rochester Track Club

I've been really bad at updating upcoming races.. but we'll try to get back to that.

Here's one..  Essex Park on Oct 21st - Just $5 for the 7K event! - proceeds go to maintenance of the trails. This is a no frills event, if you're in it for the joy of running it's for you!

Best wishes to all  of you racing this weekend!  Have fun and run fast!

Tuesday and beyond!

Woot Woot.... keep the week rolling!

Tuesday 6:15pm:  Eastwood Park in Rochester is the location for the Tuesday Trail Crew! What a fun spot with some winding single track trails, along with other fun challenges.  Park in the lot near the ball fields, just off hwy 14.  - Afters is a game time decision.
Tuesday 9pm:  The Night Owls are continuing to find their way on the Douglas Trail. Join the fun from the trailhead along Valley High (next to IBM).  All you need is a desire to have fun on the run, and probably a headlamp!
Thursday 6pm:  Team R.E.D. is at the Bears Den - Original home of R.E.D.!  We'll have routes of 3,4 or 6 miles, and I'll be there with renewal stuff, and t-shirts! - Would love to see some of our newer followers join us!
Saturday 7:30am:  Off Season Striders head to Charlies Pub and Eatery, at Hillcrest Mall in Rochester. This is the standard location for Saturdays, and they'll continue to adjust the Sunday locations. Join us!

Here comes the weekend and Monday!

Saturday 7:30am: The Off Season Striders are in full action through the fall and winter. They have selected Charlies Pub & Eatery as their go-to place on Saturday mornings.  It's a great location to give you some choices on routes, and of course, come back for a wonderful social.  You can run or walk any distance you like, but for many who join, Saturdays are aimed a bit longer, like, 8+ miles.
Sunday 8am:  Off Season Striders head to Brothers Bar & Grill.  Distance will be any place from 4-8 miles, but as always, do what is right for you!  Come back to brothers to join the social!
Monday 6pm:  Monday Maniacs will have some serious fun  running from Kinney Creek in Rochester.  Get out for a run, or walk if you prefer, and come back for some hammerslagen (speelling is certainly wrong).. but dang, it means hitting a nail with the wrong end of the hammer!

Thursday 6pm!

I messed up.. there is not a home host this Thursday! - No wonder I couldn't find the details!

Thursday 6pm:  We'll gather at Brothers Bar & Grill in Rochester. Brothers can always handle a group, even on short notice, and of course, the access to the great Rochester Trail system is right there! Don't forget, at Brothers, we park in back and have the route talk there... so as to not take up the limited prime parking in front.  See you soon!

More fun for the week!

These cooler temperatures are awesome for the group running, walking or hiking!

Tuesday 6:15pm: The Tuesday Trail crew is heading to Forestville to enjoy the Big Spring Trail.  Check out the fall colors along Canfield Creek! Afters include a bon fire near the parking lot - note, you must enter the park from the West Entrance, as the bridge on East side is closed.
Tuesday 9pm:  The Night Owls hit the Douglas trail for more fun on this well maintained out and back route.  Bring those headlamps and be ready for some fun!
Thursday 6pm:  Pretty sure it's a home hosted evening, I'm seeking the details today, and will add them as they become available!
Saturday 7:30am: The Off Season Striders are in full action through the fall and winter. They have selected Charlies Pub & Eatery as their go-to place on Saturday mornings.  It's a great location to give you some choices on routes, and of course, come back for a wonderful social.  You can run or walk any distance you like, but for many who join, Saturdays are 8-10 miles while Sundays are 5-6 mile range.

Celebration!

Congratulations to Team R.E.D. members Laura (Mesenburg) and Austin Zett as they entered into marriage this past weekend! - It was a great ceremony, presided by another Team R.E.D. member, with Randy Fett leading the ceremony with his passion.
