Here comes the sun - Let's enjoy the upcoming warm-up together during the Week Ahead!

Those who were able to make it to Oxbow Park today enjoyed a great day on the trails!  We saw many deer, and lots of other community members out enjoying the day!

Karla & Courtney are ditching Jeremy

Bethany believes she can still win this race!

About Mile 3.25 of a great snow shoe adventure

The Deer didn't seem to mind our presence.. and we certainly enjoyed them

The Crew!

Monday 6pm:  Monday Maniacs are heading back to the Freight Yard as we got "iced out" last week.  Freight yard is located along Civic Center drive, it's a great place to walk or run.. and a great place for a social!
Tuesday 6:15pm:  The Tuesday Trail crew is heading to Indian Heights in Rochester. This is a tucked away place that many Rochester residents have yet to find. Join the fun as you can run, hike or snow shoe here!  Afters are TBD - but they will certainly happen!   *the following link will help you find the tucked away location..   http://foih.org/park.html
Tuesday 9pm: The Night Owls continue to thrive in the evening! If you're looking that after supper timeframe, you should consider this fun crew as they gather at Glynners Pub and get some miles and back for a social!
Thursday 6pm:  Team R.E.D. is at the Bears Den in Byron to kick off the month of March! Join the fun with a walk or run of any distance and come back for a great social!

Weekend!

  • Saturday 7:15 - The Long Run from the RAC.. this is a supported run and super fun! Also, please consider volunteering for an aid station sometime as we all know how much we appreciate having those aid stations along the way!
  • Sunday 8am - Off Season Striders heading downtown! - Gather at Brothers Bar & Grill - Remember at Brothers we park in back to not take the prime parking spots before we run away!
  • Sunday 1pm - HOPEFULLY, hopefully it snows enough to get a snowshoe crew at Oxbow Park! - We'll keep an eye on this, but if we can, we'll gather at the 1st Bridge lot (which is the 2nd parking lot on your left as you enter the park).

The Week Ahead.... and St Pats!

This morning marked the first day of Full & Half Marathon training long runs from the RAC! - I hope everyone enjoyed the chance to get out with that big group, and get focused for the race season approaching!
  • Sunday 8am:  Roosters Too! near Fleet Farm, is the site of Off Season Striders.  Join the crew for a fun run, and stick around for a post workout social!
  • Monday 6pm:  Monday Maniacs are gathering at the Frieght Yard on Civic Center Drive.  We'll log some miles, and come back to this fun bar for the social!
  • Tuesday 6:15pm: Tuesday Trail Crew is running or snowshoeing the Bronk Plowline. Long loops and short loops available for this fun location. - Parking is limited so the team is meeting at Mandy's place at 6420 Woodland Blvd, Minnesota City. - and don't forget about the fun Afters!
  • Tuesday 9pm:  The Night Owls are enjoying the location and social from Glynners, and with that said... Glynners it is! Join the crew for the fitness and stay for the social!
  • Thursday 6pm:  Team R.E.D. is breaking pattern on the rotation this week, by request of a Birthday girl. Wendy O' has requested the Bears Den - and that's where we'll be! Join the route of 3, 4 or 6 miles and come back for some rock, paper scissors!
Many of you have had a chance to ride the St Patrick's celebration bus in the past, and if you been on board, you know it's fun! - If you haven't, now is your chance! Typically we've ridden in conjunction with St Pauls Lucky Palooza celebration, but this year we'll ride on St Patrick's day, as March 17 falls on a Saturday,

Check out the details from Paul & Annette below..

O'Friends,
It's that time of year again!  Time to get your green on for another bus trip up to St. Paul to celebrate St. Patrick's Day which falls on a Saturday this year!  We'll go pub hopping on Saturday, March 17.  For some odd reason they're doing the Lucky Palooza party on 7th St. the week before, but we're going for the real deal on the 17th.  We have a motor coach reserved for the first 45 people to sign up.

This year we're going to try a BYOB and lower the bus cost to $20 per person.  So team up on coolers or we'll have cooler space and ice if people want to go the communal cooler route.

We'll hit some of our old favorites like Sweeney's, Billy's, O'Gara's, The Liffey, etc..

We'll leave from Somerby (new location) around noon and be back before 9.

Help us get the word out and invite your friends and relatives.  All are welcome.

Please respond asap and let us know how many spots you'd like to reserve.  You can make your checks out to either one of us.

Let us know if you have any questions.

We're looking forward to another fun day!!

Opportunities!

I'm excited to announce Team R.E.D. is officially the new host of the Minnesota Nut House Challenge.  With that said, we'll be seeking people who want to volunteer and take on small race day roles, or larger roles to help shape Team R.E.D.

With this transition, we have acquired the TritonEvents Website, and I'm seeking a webmaster. Do you have skills AND time to help us update and maintain a website?  If you do, please email me at  byron.teamred@gmail.com

You'll see a list of races we currently support from a Race Directing standpoint. If you're interested in learning to race direct, and willing to volunteer, please email me at byron.teamred@gmail.com

We are now Directing all of the following events - and it's awesome! With that said, it takes a lot of volunteers, so if you want to be part of any one of these events, please email me with your availability!  - byron.teamred@gmail.com

  • June 2nd - Mason Run @ Chesterwoods - 5K, 10 Mile, 50K
  • July 14/15 - Minnesota Nut House Challenge - 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, Half Marathon
  • July 19 - Beer Mile - 1 Mile / 4 Beers  - We plan to meet International Rules in 2018
  • July 22 - Free Kids Mile - Byron Good Neighbor Days Parade
  • Nov 30 - Underwear Mile - Adults Only
  • Dec 1 - Pajama Mile - Family Friendly

Along with these races, we are big supporters at many local events!  Our volunteer time makes a difference, as does our participation rate! So please keep on supporting all local races!

Speaking of volunteers...

We're seeking a key volunteer for the Med City Marathon Weekend. Team R.E.D. hosts a booth at the Expo, and I'd love to name a volunteer coordinator to track that we have our booth fully supported as I come an go throughout the weekend.  *we do some work there by checking ID's and banding people for the post race party, so we are a pretty busy booth!  If you can coordinate our staffing, that would be awesome, please email me at byron.teamred@gmail.com
