The Week Ahead... Filled with options!

Opportunities all over!

Sunday 8am:  The Off Season Striders is gathering at the People's Food Coop in Rochester for a group run.  Settle in for some morning social time when you wrap the exercise portion of the day.
Sunday 8am:  The Sunday morning run at Oxbow continues... meet at the 1st bridge and plan for roughly 5 miles of trail running.  The 1st Bridge is the 2nd parking lot on your left as  you enter the park.
Monday 6pm:  Monday Maniacs found a location with a patio, and a variety of beer!  It's the Green Mill at 2723 Commerce Drive NW Rochester. (along West Circle Drive).   Mondays are fun days!  Let's do it!
Tuesday 5:30pm:  The All-Comers Mile at Soldiers Field.  This is a Timed One Mile race on the track.  No charge for this event!  Typically the race is run in heats, and you can place yourself according to anticipated finish time.
Tuesday 6pmish:  The kids All-comers meet takes place at Soldiers field at the completion of the all-comers mile.  Always fun to watch the little ones race!
Tuesday 6pm:  The TerraLoco 5K is supporting the United Ways Power of the Purse this week, and next!  The Power of the Purse event brings books to local children through the Dolly Parton Imaginary Library.  The weekly 5K's are just $5 with the funds going to local charities each week!
Tuesday 6pm:  A hiking crew is heading to Oxbow for a fun hike on the trails.  They are meeting at the 1st Bridge and will have a great time in the park!
Tuesday 6:15pm:  The Trail crew is also heading to Oxbow for a run on the trails.   They are also meeting at the 1st Bridge and are also bound to have a great time in the park!
Wednesday 6pm:  There's an All-Comers Meet for kids on the Byron Track.  Bring the kiddo's out to run.  Seeking Team RED volunteers for this event as well!
Thursday 6pm:  Team R.ED. heads to the Bears Den in Byron.   It's always 70 and Sunny in Byron so prepare for a great evening with friends and let's share fitness & fun!
Saturday 6:15am:  Several Team R.E.D. members will take to the start line of the Gary Bjorkland Half Marathon in Duluth.  A great event, with a fun post race celebration!
Saturday 7:45am:  Several Team R.E.D. members will take to the start line of Grandmas Marathon in Two Harbors and work their way to Duluth to join the half marathoners in celebration!
Saturday 7am:  The Marathon and Half Marathon training runs start this weekend!  Note the time change, they start at 7am (rather then the winter 7:15am time).   The 1st marathon training run on June 21st is 8 miles, while the half marathoners will go 5 or so.  Distances will be building throughout the summer to prepare you for a fall marathon or half marathon.

Volunteers Needed!

Wednesday June 18th... All-comers meet in Byron.   Please email me at byron.teamred@gmail.com if you're interested in supporting this event.   We'd like you to report to the track approx 5:45pm and you could expect to wrap up around 7-7:15pm.

Friday-Saturday or Sunday August 22-24th.  You can volunteer for the Healthy Human Race Half Marathon and 5K weekend!   There has been an inquiry if Team R.E.D. would like to host an aid station on Sunday the 24th.  I will be out of town and not able to coordinate one that weekend.  If anyone has interest in taking the lead on a station, and seeking volunteers to staff it, please let me know and I'll make sure volunteers know to contact you.    If you'd like to take the lead, please email me at byron.teamred@gmail.com
